In February 2008, a local business man (who wishes to remain anonimous) donated a wonderful gift for two of our special friends - an all inclusive trip to Malaga in Spain!!! Ranu offered this amazing opportunity to two of our Transitions clients who have never been abroad on holiday. Read Kamini's article about her once in a lifetime experience.............
MY SPANISH DREAM by Kamini Shah I went to stay at Ranu’s house the night before as we had to catch a taxi at 4am in the morning. We collected Nazia from her house and got dropped off at Luton airport. We checked our luggage and went through Customs. We were going to a self catering villa in Malaga. I stepped into the villa and loved it. Swimming pool in the garden, the lovely flowers, patio doors and I was shown my bedroom upstairs.
We were hungry and there was no food in the house so we walked down to find a shop. Everything was closed on Sunday so we had to walk all the way to the beach where we found only 1 shop open. We had beans on toast and went to bed early. Next morning, I went downstairs to make myself breakfast and Ranu opened the patio doors, where we sat and ate our breakfast in Sunny Spain. We walked down to the beach. Children were making sand castles. I touched the water and it was very cold. I picked shells with patterns on it. I enjoyed just lying back and enjoying the sounds of waves.
I learnt how to make omelette and Pasta. We picked flowers, Satsuma, and lemons from the garden. I took photographs of Ranu, Nazia, and the Beach. This was the first time I had been on holiday abroad on my own. It was great and I learnt to speak Spanish.
We went shopping to the bazaar. I bought a pair of shoes and sandals, and on the last night, we had to clean the villa for the next guests. Thank you for choosing to take me, Adios!
