Friends of Charlken

The Friends of Charlken support people living in two homes in Harrow. We need new volunteers to join the group and to help with things like fund-raising, organising outings and especially friendship. Over the years the Friends of Charlken have raised funds to buy and maintain two mini-buses so that the residents at the two homes can get out into the community and enjoy trips to London, the seaside, the zoo and much more.

We are always trying to think of new ways to enrich the lives of our friends, but the most valuable thing is having someone as a friend to spend some time with.

Some of the residents at the two homes use wheelchairs, so it makes a big difference to their life if they can get out with friends who can meet their special needs whilst treating them as equal and valuable people.
